About us
ReSail started as a conversation between Lucas and Thibaut, two engineers who had long been looking for a project that made sense to them: extending the life of what already exists, rather than producing more and more new stuff.

For most of them, some of the original parts (deck hardware, small cockpit fittings, technical parts) simply aren't made by the builder anymore. The result: a boat that still sails perfectly well sits idle, or gets sold at a loss, over a part a few centimetres across.
We put today's manufacturing technologies (3D printing, CNC machining, composite) to work on a simple goal: keeping these boats sailing.
Lucas
After a two-year technical degree in materials science in Saint-Brieuc, Lucas graduated as a general engineer from ECAM Rennes in 2017. He spent three years as an R&D engineer at Halcyon, in Rennes, a company specialising in the design and manufacture of aluminium sandwich structures, then six months at Loke Composites in Saint-Malo, where he sharpened his skills in designing and building carbon composite parts. In 2022, he crossed the Atlantic aboard a Sunshine 38 he restored with 2 friends, a trip that gave him the idea, once back, to found Mayero, a company building gantries and solar panel mounts from recycled carbon masts. Lucas was its first customer.
Thibaut
A materials science engineering graduate from INSA Rennes, Thibaut founded his first company in 2018, designing and 3D-modelling electronic products from concept to prototype. That first entrepreneurial experience pushed him to train in digital marketing and web technology, a shift that's now his main line of work, withLa Flèche CRM. Sailing since childhood, he now sails a Sangria he fully restored himself. It's this dual background, product engineering and digital marketing, that he brings to ReSail.
Our method
As engineers, we don't remanufacture a part blind. Every request follows the same process: precise measurements, choosing the process and material suited to the part's function, and mechanical validation before any part that carries load or a safety role is made. A hatch handle is a good fit for 3D printing; a rudder bearing calls for CNC machining in a technical material.More on our materials and processes →
We've already referenced a catalog of parts from manufacturer data. Can't find yours? Send us the measurements and a few photos, and we'll build it.
Based in Saint-Malo
We work out of Saint-Malo, on the Brittany coast, a natural home base for a project built around sailing and boating.
